Commercial cleaning in Bangor, done properly
Bangor is where most of our work starts. Three very different kinds of client sit within a mile of each other here, and they all want something different from a cleaner.
The university has a big estate — teaching buildings, labs and student accommodation. Its cleaning year runs on the academic calendar. The serious work happens in the summer vacation and over changeover weeks, when a building can actually be emptied. Those dates are fixed and they fill up early.
Ysbyty Gwynedd and the clinics around it need a different standard again. Clinical waste has to leave through a licensed route with paperwork that stands up to inspection. Then there is the city centre itself, where the older buildings and the mix of shops, offices and cafés throw up jobs no template covers.
The buildings matter more than people expect. Much of central Bangor is Victorian or Edwardian, stone or rendered, and a lot of it is split into flats. That means shared stairwells, communal areas nobody owns, and glazing you cannot reach from the ground because of the drop to the pavement. Student housing up Holyhead Road and around Glanrafon turns over almost entirely in a few summer weeks, so end-of-tenancy cleans come in one concentrated spike.
Weather drives the outside work. Bangor sits in a hollow between the Strait and the hills. It is wet even for North Wales, and north-facing render greens up fast. We soft wash those walls — a pressure lance would take the face off. Salt off the Strait dulls glass on anything with a view of the water, so premises down towards the pier need their windows done more often than those up the hill.
Cyngor Gwynedd is the council here, and most commercial work in the city goes through them, the university or the health board. All three check your accreditation and insurance before they let anyone near a building. That is why we hold SSIP through SMAS and carry £10m cover.
We run Bangor and the far side of the Strait as one working area, so a crew here is a crew there.
- Menai Bridge — five minutes over the bridge, and the marine labs need their own specification
- Caernarfon — the other half of most council and university work in the county
- Gwynedd — the county page, if you are outside the city itself

FAQs
Questions from Bangor
Accredited and insured
SSIP through SMAS Worksafe, CITB approved, NJORD for carpet cleaning, and a registered waste carrier with Natural Resources Wales. £10m insured. Certificates and RAMS go out with every quote, not on request.
Yes, the university is one of our clients. The academic calendar governs it, not our diary. Vacation periods and changeover weeks are when a building can actually be taken out of use, so those dates fill early. If you are planning a summer clean, tell us as soon as you have the date and we can commit more crew to it.
Yes, and the Bangor summer turnover is a normal part of our year. Void and end-of-tenancy cleans in the Holyhead Road and Glanrafon areas come in a concentrated few weeks, so we plan capacity for it in advance. If you manage a block or a portfolio of HMOs, giving us the schedule early is worth more than anything else you can do.
We clean surgeries, treatment rooms and healthcare premises to an inspection standard. Clinical waste leaves through a licensed route and you get the consignment notes. That paperwork is the part most cleaning contractors get wrong, and it is what an inspection asks for.
Because Bangor is wet, sheltered and mild, which is what algae likes. A north-facing rendered wall can green up within a year of being cleaned. We soft wash it — low pressure with a treatment that kills the growth at the root. It stays clean for a season or two and the render is not damaged.
Yes. Both are a few minutes from Bangor and are effectively part of the same working area for us, along with Bethesda and Llanfairfechan. Anything within that radius we can cover at short notice, including for incident and contamination work where response time genuinely matters.
